The story of how Soul Sisters began...
In August of 2010 Missy came across a blog Women Living Well that talked about an accountability group that was started where each day M-F each lady would email about their quiet time. Missy thought it sounded like a great idea but something that she couldn't do. God had different plans. He kept bringing to her mind this idea. So after time in prayer she decided to type up an email to be sent out to ten ladies. Missy prayed that God would put on her heart the ladies she needed to ask. He is faithful! After asking ten ladies she quickly had a positive response from several. Missy had a couple of nos but the rest were excited to get started. A unique aspect of this group was although we all went to church together we did not hang out as a group all of the time. Some of the ladies didn't even know each other until this group. In September our group of ten began our journey of accountability. After several months we have had some drop out for different reasons but are still going strong. This group has been an amazing blessing to all of us involved. We have grown closer in our relationship with each other and ultimately God. We are spending time daily in the Word and prayer. The group started out shallow but as we have grown more comfortable with each other we have dug deeper in the Word and with each other.
After our last study and some events taking place we decided that we wanted to get the word out so that others could have this blessing in their lives. We now have two groups with the possibility of more starting their own studies. Anyone can start a group! You don't have to be a "leader" to start a group. So, this blog is here to encourage you on how to start your own and see how God is working everyday in your life!
